Notre Dame Baseball

Notre Dame baseball came on board yesterday in a big way... Staying ahead of the technology curve requires making informed decisions. Head Coach Mik Aoki spent some quality hours yesterday learning about implicit vs explicit practice.  When the session was finished he purchased hitting & pitching combo sets for his assistant coaches and players.  There is solid evidence that players benefit enormously from implicit training and its effects on spatial awareness for pitchers and hitters.  Coach Aoki's decision was a good one.  I met several of the players while I was assembling the pieces and they were very excited and anxious to get started.

Some coaches are hesitant to introduce new concepts and ideas to their team for fear of confusing them.  It is a legitemate concern but the benefits far outweigh the negatives.  Introducing applied science principles to a college student isn't going to cause them loose sleep.  They are in college to learn and presenting them a unique opportunity to learn about the brain only enriches their overall college experience.

We are looking for coaches that are willing to go to bat for their players...  We found one at Notre Dame.
